You upload the file as it is. The skill matches your columns to HubSpot's fields regardless of language and order, checks date and number formats against your portal and shows you which rows are missing something, before anything is imported. `check my file before import` Columns matched, date format checked, gaps flagged. The links ### How do contacts, companies and deals connect afterwards? The skill links contacts to companies via email domain and deals to contacts via your own key. How it works ## From old spreadsheet to import-ready HubSpot file. You do two steps. The skill does the rest, and you approve before anything is imported. you the Claude skill 1. 01 you ### Install the skill in Claude Upload the zip file to Claude and activate the skill. As soon as you drag the zip file into Claude Skills, it guides you on from there. 2. 02 you ### Tell Claude what you need moved, and upload your file Write e.g. "I need our old contacts, companies and deals moved into HubSpot" and upload your Excel or CSV file as it is. No need to clean it first. 3. 03 the Claude skill ### Portal check, cleaning, linking and duplicates The skill checks language, date format, properties and pipelines in your portal, cleans the file, links contacts, companies and deals and finds duplicates. Anything uncertain is shown to you before it is decided. 4. 04 the Claude skill ### Import-ready file and documentation You get a cleaned file for HubSpot's own import tool plus a technical log and a short summary for management. GDPR and consent are flagged along the way. your part: steps 01–02 — ~2 minutes to install Before you start ## What you need to take care of yourself Two things to check, it takes under a minute. Required - A **paid Claude plan** (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) with **"Code Execution and File Creation"** enabled in settings. - **Your old data file** as Excel (XLSX) or CSV with a header row. Column names and order do not matter. For contacts there must be an email column. Recommended - A connected **HubSpot connector in Claude**, so the skill can check language, date format, properties and pipelines in your portal itself. Without a connector it guides you to check them manually. Transparent ## What the skill does not do It gets your data ready for HubSpot and keeps you in the driver's seat. Here is what you still handle yourself, and how. It does not import into your portal without your approval. You get an import-ready file for HubSpot's own import tool. If you choose advanced import via connector, you see a preview first and approve before anything is written. It does not assign owners via API. Owners are set with a separate CSV update in HubSpot after the import. The skill creates the file for you. It does not create properties, pipelines or stages. It tells you what is missing and suggests a name and type. You or your HubSpot admin create it. It does not move tickets or Service Hub data. Contacts, companies and deals are covered. Tickets are too customer-specific, so we handle those together in an implementation. Frequently asked questions ## What you need to know Does it require a paid Claude account? Yes. You need Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise with "Code Execution and File Creation" turned on in settings. Does my file need specific column names? No. Columns are matched automatically, regardless of name and language. You just need one column per piece of information and a header row. For contacts, email is required. Is anything written to my HubSpot portal without asking? No. The default path is a cleaned file that you run through HubSpot's import tool yourself. If you choose import via connector, you see a preview and approve first. What about GDPR and consent? The skill flags rows without clear marketing consent, but it does not make the legal call for you. That is a decision for you or the person responsible. What if something looks wrong after import? If you used HubSpot's own import tool, you can undo the import under Import history. If data was written via connector, you have a log of every created record, so you can find them precisely.
